What’s Hot Now: Fingerstache Temporary Tattoos

January 23, 2012

Mustaches aren’t just for the boys anymore. Anyone can have a ‘stache (no barber shop or razors required) with fun “fingerstache” mustache temporary tattoos.

Tattoo Manufacturing carries a broad range of funky fingerstache styles – from “The Millionaire”…

…to “The Wrestler” (2 fingers required).

We think fingerstaches would be great for kids’ birthday parties, costume parties…or just adding some spunk to a hum-drum Tuesday afternoon. We tested our favorite fingerstache tattoos recently at Tattoo Manufacturing HQ. Here are a few of our employees sporting their favorite ‘stache:

2011 Year in Review: Hot Temporary Tattoo Trends

January 12, 2012

This month, we’re taking a moment to look back at major trends and themes we saw in temporary tattoos last year.

1. Fashion: In December of 2010, we were on the lookout for a focus on high-fashion temporary tattoos in 2011. We were not disappointed.

  • Violent Lips introduced their line of lip appliques, with designs from giraffe print to glitter to checkerboard. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kelly Rowland have jumped on this trend.

Fashion tattoos like this peacock feather temporary tattoo set remain popular.

2. Tech: With a focus on smartphones, social networks, and the latest tech gadget, we’re going to go ahead and name 2011 the Year of the Nerd. And, fitting with that theme, we saw tons of “geek-chic,” tech-focused temporary tattoos in 2011.

  • For those of us who are always running late (but never lose our sense of irony), there’s Tattly, where you can get a watch to stamp on your arm. Tattly also produces calculator, camera, and boombox designs.

  • Also, people became instantly scannable this year with QR code temporary tattoos. We love the idea of being able to scan someone’s face with your smartphone.

3. International: We also saw temporary tattoos being used in creative new ways around the world.

  • Peruvian presidential winner Ollanta Humala’s campaign utilized custom temporary tattoosin four distinct designs. They included photos of the candidate on a background of Peru’s flag and a message for Peru. More than 4m tattoos were produced for a country with a population of 29m – a temporary tattoo for almost one in seven Peruvians.

  • As soccer fans around the world cheered on their country’s team in the Women’s World Cup in Germany, country flag temporary tattoos were more popular than ever.

Temporary Tattoos For Teens

November 11, 2011

Nowadays, it seems that teenagers are interested in expressing themselves in all different ways. They are looking for ways to rebel, and standout in a crowd, and because of this tattoos are on the rise. Some – get it done for shock value or to gain popularity among peers. Others use tattoos to get in touch with the playful, creative side of their personality and show off who they think they are. Parents are having to explain to their teenagers that these pieces of art are stuck with them for the rest of their lives.  A sensible solution would be to provide your teens with temporary tattoos to express their  individuality.

Your Heart Tattoo Doesn't Have to Last Forever!

The Downside To Permanent Tattoos

When thinking about permanent tattoos, teens seem to be blinded by the reasoning that they have come up with for getting their tattoo. Consider this: the permanent tattoo displaying the name of your ex-love will hardly be a welcome sight to your current love interest. That symbol that meant so much to you when you were eighteen probably won’t mean the same thing to you twenty years from now.  What if you are applying for the job of your dreams and you lose job just because your interviewer does not approve of the unique markings you have decided lend to your personality?  Taking all of these things into consideration, the choice seems simple, why would you mark yourself permanently when you can temporarily express whatever you are feeling at that moment in time.
